If you own a classic car and would like to display it at Stannington Carnival, please email saunders_david8@sky.com

There are many different definitions of the term “classic car” in common use. As an aid to exhibitors and the public, the carnival committee has decided to offer the following guidelines as to what constitutes a classic car (or classic vehicle) for the purposes of the carnival.

Exhibitors are asked to check that the vehicles they bring fit in with the guidelines. In cases of doubt, please contact the committee.

A classic car/vehicle is likely to fit in with at least one of the following:

  • over ten years old (or represents a model that has not been in production for at least ten years).

  • due to the age of the vehicle, the value has started to increase.

  • is worth collecting and restoring rather than scrapping.

  • had a significant impact on motoring culture when it was launched.

  • was individually famous on TV or in motorsport.

  • offers unique styling features.

  • is strongly associated with the time when it was manufactured.

  • the model is not commonly seen on UK roads.
